Windmill produces and distributes a wide range of granular and blended fertilisers, formulated from locally sourced nitrogen and phosphates, and high-grade imported materials like potassium chloride and sulphate.
Compound D is a basal fertilizer applied at planting to promote strong root development in maize. Maize-specific NPK blends provide balanced, stage-specific nutrition throughout the crop's growth cycle. Using them together creates a complementary strategy; Compound D establishes the foundation, while the NPK blends support later stages like leaf growth and grain production. This combined approach helps ensure the maize plant gets the right nutrients at the right time for optimal health and yield.
Ammonium Nitrate (AN) provides a rapid and reliable source of nitrogen for plants, offering both quick-release ammonium and fast-acting nitrate. Urea is a highly concentrated, low-cost nitrogen source that must convert to ammonium in the soil before plants can use it. Coated Urea is a enhanced version designed to slow the release of nitrogen, which reduces losses and improves nutrient use efficiency. This controlled-release mechanism makes Coated Urea more effective and environmentally friendly compared to its uncoated counterpart.
Top-dressing fertilizers are applied to the soil surface after crops have already been planted and started to grow. Products like "Super Cereal Top" are typically used on cereal crops such as maize or wheat. They provide a crucial boost of nutrients, especially nitrogen, during key growth stages. This mid-season application supports vital development like stem elongation and grain formation. The primary goal is to increase both the final yield and the protein content of the grain. This method is a key management practice for maximizing cereal crop production.
